Rebecca Larkin has been involved in education for most of her adult life. She taught for a couple of years after graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. When Rebecca started having children, she decided to stay home with her children and homeschool them. During that time, Rebecca continued her role as an educator, teaching privately to her own children, as well as other private avenues.

Rebecca has been a substitute taught for multiple years throughout school districts in Kansas and Arkansas. Rebecca decided to return to the classroom as a substitute after 10 years of homeschooling her children. Her favorite grades to teach are second through fourth grade, however, she has had enjoyment fulfilling some incredible fifth-grade classrooms this year. Her goal as a substitute is to “accomplish as much as she can of what the teacher has requested, but to have enough flexibility to keep the best order in the classroom and have happy and successful kids!”.

Rebecca joined the MHED team in 2016 and subs in the Kansas City, Kansas School District USD 500.  The USD 500 teachers reported that Rebecca “does a great job supporting students”, “teachers who interacted with her speak very highly of her”, and “goes above and beyond to make learning enjoyable for each student”. The MHED team appreciates Rebecca’s communication, flexibility, and quality of work. Rebecca is a very reliable substitute teacher who is always available to work when last minute assignments come through.

Thank you, Rebecca, for all that you do!
